“The second I enter restaurant Lara Djonggrang in Jakarta I’m in love with it. I’m in love with the bright colors, the beautiful buddha statues and the many plants. It feels like there’s a tiny jungle inside and before I take place at the table I can not stop myself from taking a lot of pictures.”

From the outside Lara Djonggrang might not seem so special, but once you enter you will quickly see that it’s is a very beautiful and magical restaurant that will make an impression that lasts forever. Everywhere you look there are beautiful (traditional) decorations and there are a lot of plants. The fish pond with Koi fish and a small fountain is the cherry on top of the cake that is Lara Djonggrang.

The restaurant isn’t one big open space, but it is divided in a few smaller rooms. There are several rooms which are available to book for a private party or dinner. The table setting is beautiful and they serve the best traditional Javanese food!
