“After a quite steep descent we finally arrive at Big Rock Falls in Belize. What a beautiful spot! I can’t wait to dive in the crystal clear water, and so I did…”

The 150 foot high waterfall is located in the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve near San Ignacio and not many tourists take this hike towards Big Rock Falls as there is another (busy!) waterfall nearby – score!

The hike in is all downhill, quite steep but doable! It is a good idea to soak in the cool water just before you leave, as you build up a lot of heat climbing back to your car!

It’s such a beautiful place to take a swim. You can swim right up to the falls or dive from a rock in the beautiful water. I felt truly one with nature here.
