“Immerse yourself in Austrian nature near Zell Am See. I felt so at ease after cross country skiing in Austria, it felt like flying in winter wonderland!”

Want to discover Austrian nature in winter time? Forget snowboarding and skiing (well okay, for just one day then) and discover this wonderful area by Cross Country Skis. I’ll admit: in the beginning you have to get used to the slippery skis but after a while you feel like flying in winter wonderland! Zell am See in Austria is the perfect area to learn Cross Country Skiing: it’s beautiful, there are some great views on the mountain tops and it’s so quiet and peaceful in winter time.

Around the village Maishofen (near Zell am See) you’ll find a few magical loipes from different levels. I recommend the 7KM loipe from Maishofen to Lahntal and back. It’s not too hard but also not too easy (you’re definitely going to feel your muscles the next day, but it’s worth it.) The area is also perfect for hiking: there are a couple of lovely winterhiking trails. Have fun!
