“We are visiting Lapland in the coldest month of the year and thus we find ourselves in a true winter dream. After leaving the main road we drive down a small lane. And there it is: a red wooden lodge under tall pine trees, heavy with snow. The only sound we hear is the Välijoki river flowing just a couple of meters from the porch. This is Namman Maja, a little gem in the arctic.”

The cabin has a cosy interior with a fireplace and a sauna to warm up after a day of outdoor exploring. With two bedrooms and a baby bed there’s plenty of space for a small family. From every window you’ll see trees that surround the cabin and you’ll feel very secluded and connected with nature. The friendly owners have several cottages for rent in the area, such as on the lake side close by. This place however is perfect for those seeking privacy and a natural surrounding.
