“It feels as a throwback to our trip through Thailand, but in fact we’re at Umami, only 5 minutes away from home in Berlin.”

Asian food isn’t difficult to get in Berlin. Good Asian food is a bit harder. Thanks to Umami in Kreuzberg and Prenzlauerberg it got a bit easier.

Officially their kitchen is Indo-Chinese but secretly it takes me back to Thailand. Everything is so damn fresh. The food is amazingly good and those cocktails. Those cocktails!

It’s difficult to make a choice between all the mains and starters they offer. From spring rolls to dumpling soup, nice curries or noodle salads, everything you could ever wish for is there. But I could only recommend doing one thing: order all the starters you can get your hands on and split them with the table. And don’t forget the sweet potato pancakes!
