“Walking through the Old Bergen Museum feels like stepping inside a time machine. Meet different characters like the first female photographer in town and have a peek inside her studio. This place is so incredible!”

The Old Bergen Museum is an open air museum that represents the old town of Bergen. In the 1800s, Bergen was Europe’s largest wooden town. The museum shows how life was 150 years ago. What dit people talk about? What did people do during their day? How did their homes look like and how and where did they shop?

During your visit you’ll meet different characters who tell the story of Bergens history. The actors really make history come to life and they are so hilarious! The open-air museum has 55 wooden houses, most of which originate from Bergen city centre.
