“When I walk around the market with likeminded boho’s, I feel like coming home. This is why I live on Ibiza. Sant Joan is my favorite hippymarket of the island.”

Every Sunday, the little village of Sant Joan de Labritja (in the north of Ibiza) turns into a cozy place with the nicest hippy market of the island, the Hippy Market Sant Joan. It was the first market I’ve visited at the island and after I’ve seen all the other markets, it’s still my favorite.

Most things you can buy at this market are handmade; jewellery, clothing, hats, soap, dreamcatchers, shoes and so much more. Locals will buy their fruit and vegetables here and it’s also a meeting place for all their friends. There is live music and if you want, you can dance at the square with all other hippies.

Don’t forget to buy cookies from the sweet Spanish/Argentinian couple of Raices de Ibiza. They are so sweet (the couple ánd the cookies!). A fresh juice is yummy too when it’s hot outside. A ‘multi fruit zumo’ fresh made juice is just 2 euro!

Tip
After the market, visit one of the beaches in the north like Cala Xaracca. Have a lunch at Paloma Café in San Lorenzo and go visit Benirras, where locals will bring their drums and give a show to welcome the sunset.
