“I absolutely love the luxury of traditional simplicity in a yurt on a beautiful Dutch island. Texel Yurts is such an inspirational place to stay at!”

We stayed (together with our baby dachshund Pretzel!) in a yurt on the beautiful Dutch island Texel and I would recommend it to anyone! Staying in a yurt is a pure experience, whatever the weather might look like. It is the perfect way to relax. It’s an experience and adventure on itself and I felt like being part of something special at this place.

I especially enjoyed the sense of peace that staying at a yurt brings: chopping firewood and lit up a fire inside, sitting together around the wood stove, telling stories, listening to the wind and the rain on the roof… One more log on the fire… Would you like a cup of tea or shall we open a bottle of wine? The yurt has everything you need: a kitchen block, seating area, dining table, a comfortable double bed, the wood stove on which you can cook too… It’s perfect and I loved all the small details and travel souvenirs from the owners. We stayed in the Hideaway yurt. It couldn’t be more romantic! Outside of the yurt you will find the peace and quiet of nature around you in your own sheltered dune hollow, with picnic table, outdoor chairs and a hammock in which to laze around.

A yurt holiday is suitable for everyone who is happy at heart and young in spirit. Staying in a yurt stands for ‘quality time’, something which is often scarce in modern life. The island offers beautiful nature and peaceful surroundings and simply spending time together in the yurt is always worthwhile. The owners live in a yurt throughout the year, and that is exactly what I would love to do too. So inspiring!
