Built in 1957, this crane has seen the KNSM Island evolve from industrial area to creative hub, and underwent a similar transformation when it was turned into a luxury apartment. I had the honor of sleeping here and it was mesmerizing waking up to the sun rising over the IJ river.
The Yays – Crane Apartment is a boutique three storey apartment situated in a renovated historical harbour crane. A unique accommodation perfect for those looking for an unforgettable and extraordinary experience. The quays along the IJ-River were filled with harbour cranes back in the 20th century. The KNSM-Island, where The Yays – Crane Apartment is located was one of those spots. This was the last Figee crane located there, and therefore an icon for Amsterdam. Yays Concierged Boutique Apartments renovated the crane and transformed it into a three storey apartment. A truly unique experience, perfect for those desiring an extraordinary stay in Amsterdam.
