“Qii House is a spectacular weekend getaway nestled in a tranquil, lush rainforest haven on top of Erskine Falls along the Great Ocean Road. It was a perfect hide away, a gem hidden in Otway National Park, a bushwalker’s paradise. We were all alone as Qii House offers exclusivity, it was such a cosy romantic getaway!”

The Great Ocean Road is winding its way along the ocean and the beautiful views are innumerable. Yet my favorite spot on the Great Ocean Road is the Great Otway National Park: a huge primeval forest full of giant ferns, tall trees, koalas, wallabies, waterfalls, hills and… Qii House. Have you ever seen such a quirky, amazing forest cabin? Qii House is a wooden forest villa from the 70s in the middle of nowhere. I could have stayed here all week! You feel so small here, really a part of all that green around you. Qii House comfortably sleeps 8 people and you can rent the whole house! Each bedroom comes complete with a qii spa bathroom hamper and a complementary soy wax candle. The house has many areas to relax and to socialize with family and friends: a beautiful living room with fireplace, a bar area, outdoor dining area, sunset deck, barbecue, outside baths, day beds for simple relaxation, to indulge all senses and to become one with nature.

Bold, bright and beautiful, Qii House Eco Retreat is a unique stay that doesn’t sacrifice substance for style. I felt right home with all of the quirky modern facilities and our stay was so special. We even had some complimentary wine on arrival, a luxury breakfast hamper consisting of seasonal locally sourced produce, plus coffee and tea facilities, and a gift wrapped bathroom hamper! And the owner Heather is the most amazing bohemian woman I know. The Qii House experience is unique, novel and offers exclusivity, privacy and silence. It is a perfect space for simple pleasures and for getting back to basics.

“Some people look at me strange when I say tree talk, but I walk among them and look uo I feel them watching me, and I listen.”

Qii House epitomizes every aspect of the Feng Shui way; from its superb forest wilderness aspect, perched high overlooking the Great Otway National Park, embracing abundance in nature; a mecca of waterfalls within a 10 kilometre radius!

To put it very simply, Feng Shui aims to align earth and life with the universe in order to receive good energy and wellness. Every room has high cathedral ceilings, mindfully placed round “fishbowl” windows that are convex so as to draw in the breath taking views of towering treetops, tree ferns, sweeping gullies and distant sunlit horizons. Double glaze glass windows and sliding doors open every aspect of the house to extend to the many alfresco living areas in the Zen gardens while at the same time flooding the internal space with a golden aura of natural light.

This original quirky architectural gem circa 1977 was built to specification by renowned architect Edgard Pirrotta of Melbourne and is of high local significance. Qii house has been beautifully restored by local artisans in a bespoke manner and melds with its landscape. Here, you can unwind and explore the unknown. Enjoy a relaxing retreat overlooking Japanese inspired gardens of simple beauty and an endless forest wilderness landscape.

The Qii house experience will ignite all your senses ensuring you leave feeling refreshed and energised!
