“Sitting on the rooftop overlooking the hot, busy city of Marrakech cooling down and preparing for the evening strolls. I am surrounded by paper lanterns, dozens of cushions, colorful prints and modern touches. The golden sun sets right in front of my eyes. It’s time for a drink at Nomad.”

The medina of Marrakech is all about Souks. Colourful, tiny, beautiful, handcrafted and somewhat chaotic Souks. An experience you don’t want to miss but an escape from the busy crowds can be a delight at times. If you need a shopping break, find Nomad!

I always love places where they honor traditions and culture but at the same time keep an eye on the modern days. At Nomad they have created the perfect mix! The restaurant is set out over three floors and has a great rooftop terrace with a view of the medina. Every floor has its own decorations and cozy corners to enjoy a meal or drink. The menu offers variations on traditional Moroccan dinners plus some delicious veggie options (Yay!). Be sure to try the homemade ice cream flavoured with ginger, saffron or spiced chocolate.  All in all a perfect place to catch your breath before returning to the craziness of the Medina streetlife.

Tip: The owner of Nomad has another restaurant in Marrakesh called ‘Le Jardin’ – set in a beautiful garden and definitely worth a visit too!
