Okonjima Lodge
“I wake up from the sound of wild animals, and when I open my eyes I look right into African savanna. Am I awake or still dreaming about Africa?”
Okonjima Lodge is situated halfway between the capital Windhoek and the Etosha National Park in Namibia. The 55,000 acre Okonjima Game Reserve offers amazing accommodation options, but the highlight has to be the cheetah and leopard safaris. A ranger took us out in the evening and morning and we saw so many wildlife, it was unforgettable! I’ve stayed in the Bush Camp, offering beautiful thatched chalets in African style. Rangers were very sweet, food was great, the chalet was picture perfect. I love the African style and the open windows offered a beautiful view on the reserve and you can feed some wild animals here.
Namibian safaris are truly wonderful and as The AfriCat Foundation rehabilitates cheetahs, wild dogs hyaenas and leopards, we saw these beautiful carnivores in their natural environment. There is accommodation to suit all budgets, from a private camp site to real safari lodges.
All visitors to Okonjima contribute indirectly to the AfriCat Foundation by staying in the lodges and partaking in activities!
