“Ubud is like the center of a creative heart, with it’s smells and sounds and senses. It feels amazing waking up here at Plataran in Ubud, with temples and monkeys right at your doorstep.”
The hotel is a sprawling haven of tranquility with all it’s little corners, rice paddies, lights and art – and located just off Ubud’s main dining hub of Jalan Hanoman Road. You can step directly from the bustle of the street into their beautiful gardens overlooking some paddy fields and a sacred temple that is aged more than 100 years old.
Within this lush oasis you can find the hotel, divided over more buildings, as well as two beautifully designed infinity pools, a luxurious spa and outdoor gym, inspiring meeting venues, and two restaurants offering very good food.
Our room is not as unique as the hotel itself but absolutely comfortable and the view over the pool and rice terraces is beautiful. They do have some amazing suites though! Each night we get surprised by fresh fruits & chocolate in the room and the breakfast is to die for.
An unforgettable experience at Plataran was the cooking class we took. First, we went to the market which is an experience itself, and after we got to cook a whole table of authentic Indonesian dishes… and eat it! The Indonesian chef shared all his secret cooking techniques and recipes of his favorite Indonesian dishes as well as some insight knowledge on the world of spices and herbs. It was so much fun doing this together with my dad!
This hidden gem is the perfect place to immerse in the cultural heart of Bali, and serenity beyond compare.
