“The minute I walk in Chakrabongse Villas in Bangkok my eyes twinkle. I hear the sound of water fountains, smell blossom and see only tropical greens around me.”

I enter a botanical world within buzzing Bangkok. Chakrabongse is built in 1908 and was the home of Prince Chakrabongse, the second son of King Rama V and Queen Saowabha. Today the property has been transformed into a boutique hotel set in beautiful tropical gardens at the bank of the Chao Phraya River.

The Thai-style teak villas are all decorated with a mix of antique and design furniture and fully equipped with everything you might need. The large bedroom has a walk-in closet with minibar and a beautiful bathroom with large jacuzzi. On the private veranda there are beach beds with view at the beautiful Wat Arun, just opposite of the river. Situated in the middle of the botanical gardens is a large swimming pool to cool down after a city walk.
