Laid-back cottages under a mango tree in Puerto Princesa, The Philippines

“It’s great being able to discover the busy hub of Puerto Princesa in Palawan, The Philippines, but sleep in a quiet oasis just outside town. I read books under the mango tree, enjoy a great breakfast and listen to all the sounds of the wildlife and nature surrounding me. I feel at home, the owner Maria is so sweet!”

Subli Guest Cabins is a unique alternative to the traditional accommodations in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan. It features bamboo cabins in a peaceful, camp-like atmosphere located in a private area, 10 minutes from the airport.

In the local Cuyunon dialect, Subli refers to something inherited. In the owners case, Maria inherited the land from her parents. It came with this beautiful, huge mango tree that is now the centerpiece of her property. But not just the land. Almost everything at Subli Guest Cabins was inherited – wood from her grandmother’s old house, furniture from her parents’ and aunt’s house, plants from cousins and aunts, books, magazines, pictures, from everyone. Subli is built on happy memories!

Subli prides itself in offering a laid-back, family-style ambience where guests can swap stories under a huge mango tree or help the kitchen staff prepare meals in our one-of-a-kind cooking hut. You may hang out in their screened reading hut or lay in a hammock under the mango tree. The options are yours!
