Hostel Pause is situated at one of the sandy streets at Caye Caulker, Belize and they have a cat shelter currently caring for about 40 stray cats and a few dogs. They are definitely animals lovers, if your traveling with friends who walk on two or four legs they are equally welcome to check-in. You need not leave your pet at home and if you did, you may find yourself some petting love here. All cats are very friendly and cuddly!
Pause is a hostel with a cause. In addition to offering budget-friendly accommodation (they offer simple dorm rooms and one private room) they run P.A.W (Protecting Animal Welfare) Cat Sanctuary in Belize. They are the only non-profit Cat Sanctuary in all of Belize & Mexico. 100% of the profits from their hostels goes towards their mission of advocating in the interest and welfare of animals through education, reducing the homeless stray animal population and offering free sterilization.
I already booked another place to stay, but I believe it would be an amazing experience staying here and it is already so cool just visiting this place too, like I did. It’s a lovely place about empathy, compassion, giving back, and leaving this planet a little better than we found it. And they have a lovely private beach!
