“While looking for a quiet and natural campsite in the Belgian Ardennes that has kids facilities AND allow dogs I found camping Anderegg. It was perfect, we had a blast waking up by the sounds of ringing cow bells and our view over the meadows was truly beautiful! Camping Anderegg is a quiet nature campsite to pitch your tent, caravan or camper and be surrounded by the beautiful Belgian Ardennes.”

The Hoge Vennen lie at the far east of Belgium, a beautiful nature reserve of 5000 hectares. Greenery and nature dominates there with all its wooded hills, rivers, waterfalls and beautiful panoramas. This is where you find camping Anderegg!

Camping Anderegg is the ideal charm campsite for nature lovers and dog owners. The campsite is located at the foot of the Hoge Vennen and within walking distance of Lake Robertville, at an altitude of 535 meters. It’s the perfect place for people who don’t like large crowds and huge campsites, but seek a relaxed small-scaled campsite with numerous walking, hiking, cycling and mountain bike opportunities. From the campsite, several hiking and mountain bike routes depart. Anyone who has been to eastern Belgium or the Ardennes before knows that it is not an exaggeration to call this area a walking paradise. More than 1000 km of hiking trails are mapped out by the local tourist agencies. And due to the wide variety of vegetation, there are many different bird species on and around the campsite.

The camping pitches are located on the edge of the woods and some pitched have a view of the valley that is full of beautiful flowers in spring. There are a number of pitches located at a rippling stream. Very idyllic indeed! There is a small shop and heated sanitary facilities with showers, sinks, a separate baby/toddler/laundry cabin, a hair dryer and a separate space for emptying the chemical toilet. I loved the fact that there was enough toilet paper ánd that they have a children’s toilet too!

There is plenty to do for families with young children, such as a huge newly build playground and there is a lovely recreation space with kitchen, TV, play corner and board games and a small terrace and jeu de boules field. Our 4 year old twin (bonus)daughters had a blast at the campsite and they loved exploring the surroundings too: we hiked, swam at a waterfall, visited a castle, cave and the lake, and so on. They are still talking about the holiday and loved the cultural activities nearby. Don;t forget to visit the medieval town of Monschau, go shopping in Malmedy, visit all the caves and waterfalls and enjoy the beautiful nature. Beer lovers can visit the breweries of Bellevaux and La Chouffe. Yay, enjoy!

Note; this campsite is open from 1 april till 30 september!
