Eat in Berlin as if you are in Asia

“It feels as a throwback to our trip through Thailand, but in fact we’re at Umami, only 5 minutes away from home in Berlin.”

Asian food isn’t difficult to get in Berlin. Good Asian food is a bit harder. Thanks to Umami in Kreuzberg and Prenzlauerberg it got a bit easier.

Officially their kitchen is Indo-Chinese but secretly it takes me back to Thailand. Everything is so damn fresh. The food is amazingly good and those cocktails. Those cocktails!

It’s difficult to make a choice between all the mains and starters they offer. From spring rolls to dumpling soup, nice curries or noodle salads, everything you could ever wish for is there. But I could only recommend doing one thing: order all the starters you can get your hands on and split them with the table. And don’t forget the sweet potato pancakes!

She loves to combine the busy streets filled with the newest places with lazy sundays in the park and shares stories on Blackbirds&Blossom. She believes that it takes a while to get to know a city and returns to some of of her favourites to feel like a local wanderer. For The Boho Guide she explores Berlin and beyond.
