“An offroad track leads us from above the cliffs down to Porto Limnionas, a marvellous bay with clear water placed along the West coast of Zante island. This remote beach is perfect and the taverna serves Greek delicacies.”

Taverna Porto Limnionas has a wonderful panorama all over the bay and the different colours of the sea, the caves and the Mediterranean nature are an idyllic scenery for my lunch at this Greek tavern. In the restaurant you can taste both meat and fish and specialities as fresh grilled fish, grilled squids or fried sardines. I enjoyed the Zucchini balls, Greek salad, a lamb dish and loads of Tzatziki. The wine is produced by the owner. They are open both lunch and dinner as the sunset is right in front of the veranda. You can choose between eating under pine trees shadow with the view over the bay, inside our comfortable restaurant or just in front of the Ionian sea on our terrace.

Porto Limnionas itself is my favorite beach on the island. It’s a beautiful bay on the west coast, reachable by an offroad track from the inlands. It’s actually not a beach, but a bay within steep rocks. A staircase carved in the rocks lead you to the insanely blue lagoon. You can explore dark caves while snorkeling and swimming. I fell in love with this spot!
