Fish company is said to be one of the best restaurants in Reykjavik and maybe in whole Iceland. It may be no surprise that they serve amazing fish, but meat dishes as wel. Their sushi platter (starter dish) is the best sushi I have ever had. Their fried lobster sushi roll is legendary. This restaurant is quite expensive even for Icelandic people, but it is definitely worth it.
The restaurant is located in one of the oldest houses in Reykjavik: the old Zimsen house, a former store that was built in the 19th century. The Fish Company’s interior is very cozy and warm and has an intimate feeling. They pay attention to detail and serve their dishes on beautiful tableware.
The courses are influenced by Nordic fusion, but grounded in solid Icelandic cuisine. Not only Icelandic cuisine is on the menu, there is also an option for an “Around the World” menu, where spices and herbs of the world are used to serve you a tasteful dining experience.
