“Make the most of your stopover in Iceland and hike to the top of the Úlfarsfell mountain near Reykjavik, it’s beautiful!”

Did you know, when flying to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean with Icelandair, you can make a stopover up to seven days in Iceland without paying extra? Hiking to the top of Úlfarsfell mountain is a perfect activity for your stopover if you’re only spending one or two days in Iceland!

Úlfarsfell is a small mountain located south of Mosfellsbear, a small town near Reykjavik. The mountain is almost 300 meters high and gives you a perfect view over Iceland’s capital. Iceland’s nature is one of the main reasons to visit Iceland (if you ask me) and although Úlfarsfell is nothing compared to other mountains in Iceland, it gives you a perfect chance to explore some Icelandic nature when you’re staying in Reykjavik for a short time.

Are you visiting Iceland in June or Juli? Get yourself ready for an enchanting purple landscape. During these two months the Arctic Lupine is in full bloom! The Lupine’s vivid purple color give an unique and amazing look to the landscape. The flower is very strong and does not need much to grow. They even grow on stone and survive the most extreme weather conditions! The Arctic Lupine made my visit to Úlfarsfell even more spectacular.
