Feira de Ladra Lisbon
“Lisbon feels like an old friend that welcomes you back after a long time.”
Being a trained urban jungle traveler, Lisbon was a joy to visit – mostly because of her colorful streets in Bairro Alto, offering divine Pasteis De Natas and ravishing lookouts throughout the city. Lisbon will take you on an adventure. The best thing to do is just go with the flow and enjoy!
One of the surprises for me was the flea market Feira de Ladra. This market is a melting pot of cultures where you need at least seven pairs of eyes to see all the merchandise in this big cabinet of curiosities. This is also the place to find your ultimate souvenir. All locals will sell their goods and the small shops around this area are worthy to be visited as well.
My wallet was emptied in a small shop with all sorts of Portuguese porcelain. Do not think for a moment that it’s old fashioned porcelain. I bought a lovely vase and during one of my other trips I have seen the same vase in several concept stores. Cool, isn’t it!
Go wander at this market with all its curiosities, music, nice people and coffee. The walk up to get to this market is very nice too. You will have a small work-out but trust me: it is worth it!
