Bed & Breakfast Can Portell
With gypsy wagons in the meadow and floral rooms in the farmhouse, you will definitely feel like a happy hippy when you sleep at this colourful place called Bed & Breakfast Can Portell.
After a whole (rainy) day on the ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona I looked forward to spend the night in a warm and cozy place. A few days before I started my road trip from Ibiza to the Netherlands, a friend told me about Bed & Breakfast Can Portell in the north of Spain. Not far from Girona, the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava it looked like the perfect place to stay my first night. And it was.
Colourful rooms, a lovely garden and a really warm hostess; Debbie. I felt so welcome! I stayed in the Pink Box and fell directly asleep when I jumped into bed. When I waked up, the sun was shining through the windows and I had a lovely view over the garden. Debbie showed me the whole house and I discovered the garden myself while Debbie was preparing healthy breakfast. I loved it.
You will find bohemian wagons in the garden to sleep in, lovely corners with shady places, hammocks where you can relax, a piano in the house that you may play if you can and there’s also a pool for the hot summers. It’s possible to organise retreats, a wedding or workshops. There are so many opportunities at this place… You will love this wonderful place as well.
*Not far from the B&B you can find the village of Banyoles where you can make a wonderful walk around the lake ‘Estany de Banyoles’.
