Authentic Syrian food in Arnhem

“Finally I have the time to try Damascus, an authentic Syrian restaurants around the corner of my house in Arnhem. And I am impressed.”

De Hommelsestraat is my favourite street in Arnhem, a creative city in the Netherlands and indeed my hometown. It’s a street packed with toko’s, Turkish supermarkets, small international restaurants, as well as creative concept stores, vintage bars and lots of creative people. It’s a mixture of cultures and people and I love it.

Damascus is an authentic Syrian restaurant in this street. The interior is quite simple (although I adore the lights) but the food is just great. They have good vega(n) options too, but their core specialty is grilled meat from their beautifully decorated charcoal barbecue. The Syrian owners are very sweet and open and the vibe is great!
