While we’re traveling around the world I often forget that my own country is also very beautiful. Take the wonderful camp site of Voscheheugte in Mantinge (Drenthe) as an example. This simple but truly amazing green hotspot has to be on your visit list for The Netherlands. Voscheheugte offers a number of tent, caravan and camper places with great views.
At the entree of the camp site you’ll find a cosy little restaurant for lunch, diner or just some coffee and a piece of pie. When you’re camping in August or September (or actually whenever) make sure to visit the Mantingerzand at the other side of the road: a big nature and wildlife spot where the heath turns purple at the end of the summer. It’s like you’ve entered a fairy tale!
