“Get carried away by a moonlight shadow, rejoice, relax, engage, go wild, create, discuss, inspire or be inspired. Camp Moonrise is yours and the possibilities are endless.”

There is a new festival in town! Camp Moonrise is the first proper boutique festival in the Netherlands: an all-embracing weekender full of gastronomy, music, art, talks, wellness and theatre. With dishes prepared by chefs on beautifully set tables between the trees; with yoga lessons, hot tubs and relaxing massages; with music from all corners of the world – ranging from intimate acoustic sounds to thrilling deejay sets; with vaudeville theatre, surprise acts and spectacular shows. Unique workshops, masterclasses and inspiring debates are also on the menu – all set in serene surroundings in the midst of lakeside nature, where every last detail is taken care of and space, attentiveness, community and comfort are key. Camp Moonrise is the most mesmerizing summer camp in the Netherlands, a magical mini holiday full of discovery.

PROGRAM

The program is based on six themes: ‘Live & Electronic’, ‘Drinks & Dining’, ‘Talks & Stories’, ‘Shows & Spectacles’, ‘Arts & Crafts’ and ‘Wellness & Wellbeing’.

Music at Camp Moonrise covers all tastes, colors and corners of the world. Let them take you on a musical journey, from jazz, blues and afrobeat through to classical orchestras and electronic beats. Gilles Peterson, Nightmares on Wax, Joep Beving, Bombino, My Baby, Nubiyan Twist and Kenny Dope (Masters at Work) have already been confirmed, among others. The whole line-up is online now!

‘Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are’, said the French philosopher Brillat Savarin. Food plays a central part at Camp Moonrise and they have invited the most innovative and creative caterers to satisfy your every culinary need. Top chef Joris Bijdendijk (Rijks @ Rijksmuseum) will host a very special pop-up restaurant with themed dinners and there’s a wide variety of street food and drinks, including a cocktail bar and absinth bar, to name but a few. You can also take part in various workshops!

‘Talks & Stories’ is all about one of the oldest forms of communication. Everyone loves stories – ancient or contemporary. They love to inspire you with performances, tales and talks on subjects ranging from science, self-knowledge, the climate, love and mindfulness. You can drift into dreams listening to fairytales, get new insights on Ayahuasca or take part in a fascinating discussion about the future of food. And… there is a mini-library on site!

Prepare to be dazzled! Be it dance, performance art, comedy, light sculptures or expositions, the ‘Shows & Spectacles’ program is moving, mind-blowing and presented in all the colors of the rainbow. Take part in an interactive performance, a skippy ball race or a sock wrestling competition. Or wrestle with a skippy ball – whatever you fancy!

Release your inner craftsman or –woman and discover hidden talents through our various ‘Arts ^ Crafts’ workshops. How about the sturdy art of wood chopping? Or organizing a lightsaber fight with your freshly made Star Wars origami and Kalligraffiti-ing your own logo? Or will you finally master the art of serigraphy? If you prefer to embellish yourself, you can do so at our Bazar, which hosts clothing stalls with quality vintage and crazy costumes, a hairdresser and even a make-up artist, among other things, services and products.

In the Spa Blue you can relax fully, with cold water baths, a sauna, herbal hot tubs and massages. The nearby Sangha Garden is a very special place. Those of you who wish to experience your own peaceful essence will be met with softness and attention, in a tranquil and earthy décor. Get out of your head and into your heart with yoga, reiki, meditation or ecstatic dancing. Join the various group activities or book an individual session in a private tent. Here, you can also listen to a serene mini-concert or a spiritual talk!

The absolute highlight of the weekend is the Moonrise Spectacle on Saturday night, a grand show which will leave the whole festival breathless.

NATURE

There is a place where every kind of bird belongs – from songbirds to rare birds to birds of paradise. That place is Camp Moonrise, a world in which we celebrate life and all the beautiful things it has to offer. We do this together, in harmony with each other and with nature. Moonrisers have an open heart and an open mind and leave their egos at home. They live in the present and create magical moments together. Nobody is left behind, everyone belongs. This sense of community also means a love for life and all it entails. This is manifest in a respect for nature, of which we are so dependent. Therefore, Moonrisers pick up their trash and treat their surroundings with respect. Moonrisers also have respect for each other, acknowledge each other and are curious of each other’s stories.
