Boshuisje Paperbird

This renovated cozy forest house is called Paperbird and it’s such a beautiful place to stay. The forest house is 45m2 and stands on 1200 m2 of forest garden. It can accommodate 2 persons: perfect for a romantic getaway! This is exactly what we did and it tuned out to be the best getaway in ages.
The cabin has a lovely interior. The cabin consists of a cozy living room and a a well equipped kitchen with an oven, Nespresso coffee, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, blender, just everything you’ll need! There’s WiFi, a smart TV with Netflix and a cozy fireplace. I loved all the details such as the books, magazines, interior decoration; the whole vibe feels just like a home away from home. The living room is exactly where you will find those eye-catching high windows are. Wow! It provides a beautiful view of the garden, the trees, the flowers and its wildlife.
The separate bedroom is very serene with lovely details and the beds are freshly made. The renovated bathroom has a rain shower, double sink and an extra toilet. There’s a beautiful terrace with outside fireplace as well. Sit still and the squirrels will definitely say hello! The cabin includes 2 bicycles too, to explore the surroundings via the many cycling routes. There is also a BBQ!
I really like their mission to live without plastic as much as possible. That is why they mainly use cotton, wood, linen, bamboo, glass and viscose. They try to save on water and water the plants in the garden with rainwater from the barrel. They provide extra crockery, cutlery and glasses in the cottage, to be able to fill the dishwasher properly! There’s a garbage can for separated waste.
The cabin is located within Bosrijk Ruighenrode. Most of the other houses on this lot are not rented out, it is a very quiet and fenced place. You rent the entire forest cabin including its large private garden and parking space. There’s a lot of nature surrounding the area, you can go on beautiful hikes and forest walks. I also loved that there are loads of vintage second-hand shops in the area, a perfect activity on rainy days!
Definitely one of my most favourite forest cabins of the Netherlands!
