“When wandering around the Kennemer Dunes in the north of the Netherlands, you almost feel like you’re in a foreign country. Wild horses and buffalos will make your hike a true adventure!”

Only recently I discovered the beauty of this piece of nature close to home. It’s a shame, because this place might qualify as one of the best places to visit for nature lovers in The Netherlands. Close to the beach of Zandvoort, the Kennemer Dunes are truly amazing for walking, cycling or just exploring.

Taking a long hike, going for a swim in the sea afterwards and drinking hot chocolate at the beachclub nearby will give you a glimpse of what the Netherlands has to offer besides Amsterdam and Utrecht. And if you like adventure, you can always go looking for the wild horses and buffalos!
