“The sun was shining on my face and woke me in the morning. We slept with the curtains open to enjoy the sunset, stars and sunrise while overlooking a real Dutch, traditional landscape. This is how I want to experience the Dutch lowlands, here at Hotel Weidumerhout.”
Hotel Weidumerhout is located in the north of the Netherlands. It is an old farmhouse that is now using its meadows as a boutique hotel. The rooms are located in such a way that you cannot see each other. The only view you have is on the endless stretch of meadows.
The rooms are decorated with luxury materials, but the environment was taken into account. The bed linnen is made of eco-cotton and the shower gels are all fairtrade. Every room has its own bathroom with toilet, so there is hardly a reason to leave these rooms with a view.
The breakfast is in the main building. This building is a refurbished farm house. The original stone floor and wooden ceiling beams are still there, only the cows are gone. The breakfast of course includes the famous suikerbrood (sweet bread made in a very special way). You cannot leave the Netherlands without having a piece of suikerbrood!
