The lodge is situated above Banff on Tunnel Mountain Road and surrounded by towering mountains, pristine lakes, and an abundance of wildlife – yet it’s just a short stroll to downtown Banff. This rustic yet luxurious lodge is the perfect place to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with nature! The lodge is located just minutes from some of the best hiking, skiing, and mountain biking trails in Banff National Park.
We absolutely loved the rustic elegance and cabin vibes of the rooms, each situated in several buildings spaciously ssurrounding a communal hot tub. Each room is carefully designed to offer breathtaking views of the mountains and forests, while also providing all the modern amenities and comforts you need to feel at home. The guest rooms at Buffalo Mountain Lodge feature wood burning stone fireplaces and private baths. Many of the rooms have balconies or patios. We stayed in a Premier Room and we especially loved our fireplace, balcony and the old-fashioned bear-claw footed bath! The height of the room got me as well, it felt like staying in a cabin and you all know I have a thing for cabins.
Hungry? There is a very good restaurant on site called the Prow! We had excellent breakfasts, lunches and dinners here, and they make very good cocktails. And don’t forget to dip into the steel hot tub: the perfect spot to unwind after a day of hiking in the Canadian mountains!
