“Can you imagine sleeping next to one of the most known penguin colonies of the world in Cape Town? It’s such an unique experience, sleeping at Tintswalo at Boulders Beach!”

Known for its pristine swimming beaches, and with the colony of penguins as star attraction, the North-facing Tintswalo at Boulders is located on route to Cape Point, enjoying sublime views of the Indian Ocean. The Tintswalo at Boulders Boutique Villa offers luxurious seaside accommodation in the charming suburb of Simon’s Town in Cape Town. The villa enjoys the beauty of local fynbos and unobstructed views over Boulders Beach with its internationally famous colony of endangered African penguins. Watching them wandering right from the lodge is such an amazing experience! You don’t need to venture far to enjoy hours of delight, watching the local resident African penguins frolic and play on Boulders Beach. You are able to walk to the beach from your room in just a few minutes! Those with a penchant for adventure can explore the Cape Town’s renowned wineries, hike the crests and hills of Table Mountain National Park, dive the ocean with the Great White Sharks, or take a two-hour kayaking excursion on a balmy Cape Summer’s day. Cape Town offers rich cultural experiences, hours of shopping, and countless outdoor expeditions to choose from.

Tintswalo at Boulders offers seaside accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis in nine beautifully-appointed luxury suites. The suites each enjoy unique views of the ocean, with the exception of the Victory suite, which enjoys its own private courtyard. No luxury is spared in these spacious rooms, which are equipped with every comfort. The air-conditioned suites are suitable for travellers of every kind. A stay includes a mouth-watering breakfast each morning, as well as afternoon snacks! If you are a big group or family, it is possible to rent the complete 9-suite private villa for fun getaways. With rich concoctions of azure, blue and greens, and dark wood fittings, the luxury suites are maritime tributes to some of history’s most famous ships that sailed the very oceans that Tintswalo at Boulders overlooks.

We slept in the Victory room and it gave me such colonial vibes, it was a very special experience sleeping here! In the 18th Century, HMS Victory was one of ten first-rate ships to be built by the British government. She was a lofty battle ship that was repaired and rebuilt many times, serving in maritime wars for many decades. The stunning ship now sits in the oldest dry dock in the world, at Portsmouth, on public display. Victory is the courtyard suite which is located on the middle level on the left-hand side of the villa. This suite does not have a sea view however it has its own private courtyard which has direct access to the social fire pit and the reception area! It was a blessing to be able to sleep here. A must for penguin lovers!
