In the northeast of Ibiza you will find the village Sant Carles de Peralta, where true hippies used to walk bare feet on the street, where they had their beer at Bar Anita and where they lived their dreams. It’s still a nice place to go, with some restaurants and beautiful shops like ‘Laturquessa’.
Travels, art, nature, different cultures… It’s all an inspiration for Laturquessa. It’s not only a shop, they also have their own brand and make beautiful jewelry and amazing bags. And you have to know the story behind those bags as it’s an inspiration for me – in Guatamala they’ve found clothes with wonderful handmade art on it, that the Guatemalan people don’t wear anymore. From these secondhand clothes they make their bags. They are so wonderful and of high quality. I love it. Worth to check it out!
It’s not only about these bags, their jewelry is famous on the island too. I once got a necklace from the brand as a present and it really has its own signature. Made with time and love. You really want to touch it, it’s so soft and light! Of course you can buy these bags and jewelry in the shop, but there’s more! Shoes from the bohemian brand Emonk Ibiza, gypsy hats from Panama, handmade (and fairtrade) belts from Mr Tuy from Guatemala and much more…
So when you’re visiting hippie market ‘Las Dalias’, don’t forget to go 1,5 km up north and take a look in cute San Carlos!
