“Good music, great food, nice people, good ideas and the BEST location is everything the Welcome to the Village Festival brings you.”

Somewhere end-July there’s a hidden place in the north of the Netherlands that turns into a small village: Welcome to the Village Festival. In three days this village offers you great music, the best food and lots of happy people. This village has an open, watery landscape and a beautiful cultural life. A village full of pride and love.

Welcome to the Village thinks good food is just as important as good music. The festival offers quality food that is mostly locally produced, but it doesn’t stop there, the festival literally gives you food for thought with their fossil- and waste free plan.

The creative and innovative heart of the festival is “DORP” (Village): a place where new sustainable solutions are created or tested for all kinds of problems. In 2016 the festival was proclaimed to be most innovative festival of the Netherlands. “Welcome to The Village stands out by extending the theme of sustainability beyond emissions, pollution and waste. The jury finds it admirable to see how sustainability within the DORP innovation project plays a central role not only in the festival itself but also in the run-up to it.” (- Jury) Their ultimate goal is to be a fully circular festival in 2022.

In addition to all the above-mentioned things, the festival simply has a lot of nice and positive vibes. It is a good place for dancing and having a good time with friends, or even family, because the festival is definitely very family friendly.
