Planning a trip with Travelbase makes sure that you can go for something unique seamless and stress-free, a big pre. It’s not a group thing (although it is nice to speak to the fellow travelers that embark on this trip as well) and while it is most convenient for couples (or friends) we did take our little nomad Atlas with us. He was perfectly fine sleeping in the rooftop tent and he had the best adventure of his short life so far!

During this 7-day road trip, we crossed one of the most beautiful routes in Scandinavia. You start and end your trip in the lovely ciry of Bergen. At the start of the trip, we were provided with a navigation system with the full route and a physical roadbook with detailed information for this unforgettable adventure. The roadbook offers route options, activities, tips and must sees: all off the beaten track to discover hidden gems that you won’t find in standard guidebooks. The itinerary does not skip the most iconic sights in Norway though! This road trip constantly surprised us. We drove along impressive fjords, along the famous Atlantic Road, and through the iconic Trollstigen – a view that I still dream about!
A tent is mounted on the roof of your 4×4, in which you spend the nights. The tent contains a comfortable double mattress with a warm sleeping bag per person and two soft pillows. As we traveled with our little one, we opted for their slightly bigger tent and it worked out fine! The rooftop tent offers you the opportunity to spend the night in unique locations that they recommend in their roadbook. The camping pitches are reserved in advance and equipped with the necessary sanitary facilities, so you can camp carefree. However, you are also allowed to go wild camping! This allows you to enjoy the country to the fullest and completely unwind. The book shares some tips for places where you can spend the night in the middle of nature as well, because wild camping is allowed in Norway. We loved it: sleeping under the stars and waking up every morning in our tent with breathtaking views that no five-star hotel can match. Are you looking for some extra spice on your road trip? 1 set of cooking equipment (cooking pot, pan, stove, gas bottles)
Each 4×4 is equipped with a basic kitchen package, with which you can cook for a week. This kitchen package is always included in your reservation.
Flights are not included in the price mentioned, however, you can book flights with them for a decent set price.
The only thing you need to bring yourself is your own cutlery, kitchen utensils, bath towels and kitchen towels. You can also add an extra food package (3 meals x 7 days) that will give you enough food for your entire trip. The food pack is available in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions. We recommend this option because it makes for an easy process. Preparing the dishes takes an average of 6 minutes! Of course, you can also buy food and drinks in local supermarkets or dine at a local restaurant along the way. The roadbook provides some nice tips!
We decided to take our toddler and sleep in the rooftop tent with the 3 of us, but you can also register with 3 aduls (= maximum), they will provide an extra ground tent and sleeping equipment (pillow, mattress and sleeping bag).
